Friends

Playing music is about Friends, and we all need friends. One of my favorite songs of all times is by the Beatles. I think it was written by John Lennon, called In My Life. Though its authorship has been argued even between Lennon and McCartney, suffice it to say that it probably should be credited to both. Their lives were so intertwined for the years they were Beatles, all four of them, but as songwriters and sometime collaborators the two were even more connected than all four Beatles. Songwriting provides a kinship that has an extra bond. Ringo came later to the songwriting stage in a couple of songs that became hits but was helped by George Harrison it is said. To what extent who can be sure and there is argument there. The point here is that life with friends coming and going, sometimes never to return again, is a poignant journey filled with happy moments and sad ones.

That said I could not have begun my journey into music had it not been for my friends on the block and the circumstances that put me back in the house were I grew up as a teenager.

Rock groups that stay together for any number of times especially if they stay together for a significant amount of time ,by necessity hang together.
